      TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 1 -- American Honda Motor Co., Inc., posted record January sales of 98,394 Honda and Acura vehicles, up 20.7 percent from January 2005, the company announced today. Honda Division also broke records for the eighth consecutive month, with sales up 24.4 percent over January last year to 84,413 vehicles.

      Honda Division light truck sales surged 17.6 percent to 37,124 on the strength of Pilot, Odyssey, and Element, while the redesigned 2006 Civic helped drive Honda car sales up 30.4 percent to 47,289 units.

      "With annual sales increases for each of the past 12 years, we are committed to continued growth in 2006, despite an increasingly competitive market," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda. "Others in the industry are tightening their belts, but we remain committed to steady, incremental growth. The addition of new models, including the Fit in April and the all new CR-V in the fall should push us to another record year in 2006."

      Increasing consumer awareness of the Honda Pilot as a class leader in safety content, coupled with the improved fuel economy offered by models equipped with Honda's Variable Cylinder Management(TM) (VCM(TM)), contributed to Pilot's best-ever January with sales up 13.1 percent to 9,999. Sales of Element and Odyssey also grew 14.2 and 10.3 percent, respectively.

      Recently named North American Car of the Year, the all-new 2006 Civic Sedan, Coupe and Hybrid models' combination of exciting styling and thrifty fuel economy helped push the Civic to another January record with sales up 56.2 percent, while Accord sales grew 9.8 percent.

      Acura Division posted record January sales of 13,981 vehicles, an increase of 2.3 percent over January 2005. Strong sales of Acura's performance luxury sedans helped set a new monthly record of 10,140 for total cars, breaking a 16-year-old record of 10,087 set in 1990.

        Cel mai probabil pret: ca. 25.000€.
        Ni se spune ca va fi mai dotat decat predecesotul sau, dar nu ni se spune cu ce anume fiindca Recaro si volan sport o avea si acesta:

              Honda cleans up in Consumer Reports picks
              All 10 of the magazine's 2006 Top Picks are Japanese nameplates, but half are U.S.-made Hondas.

              NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - Japanese carmakers -- or, more specifically, Honda followed by Toyota and Subaru -- took all ten spots in this year's Consumer Reports magazine top picks.

              No American or European nameplates are represented in this year's list, which is published in the April issue of Consumer Reports magazine.

              The lone American model on last year's list, the Ford Focus, was replaced this year by the new, redesigned Honda Civic

              Of the five Honda vehicles on Consumer Reports' Top Picks, four are manufactured in the U.S. The remaining vehicle, the Honda Ridgeline, was designed and engineered in the U.S. but is built in Canada.

              Of the five other vehicles in the list, two are Toyotas, two are Subarus and one is from Nissan's Infiniti luxury division. Those remaining five are all are produced in Japan.

              Consumer Reports buys vehicles anonymously for its test fleet through ordinary retail dealerships and tests them at a specially built facility in Connecticut. Among the tests performed are acceleration, handling, braking, ride quality and visibility.

              In addition to track tests, test engineers also drive the vehicles in ordinary day-to-day situations.

              To gauge reliability, the magazine surveys subscribers to both the magazine and its related Web site. Each respondent can supply data on up to two vehicles and the magazine received survey data on about a million individual vehicles this year, Consumer Reports said.

              In order to be considered for a Top Pick a vehicle must have at least average predicted reliability, based on survey results, and good scores in crash tests by the government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

                          • 25000 euro e tare-tare mult . sa nu uitam ca aprox. aceeasi masina ( Civic Si) vine la 21000USD ( ba are si suspensie independenta pe toate cele 4 roti). sa zicem ca varianta europeana va fi mai ingrijita la interior si va avea standard clima, stability control (care aici nici nu sunt oferite optional ) dar nu vad motive ca pretul fara taxe sa sara de 21000euro.

                            si e nevoie de un alt motor mai puternic. 2.0TFSI este indiscutabil mai bun cu o tona de cuplu inca de la 2000rpm. Astra OPC cu cei 230ponei din 2.0T este un alt concurent redutabil.

                            daca tot vor introduce un 2.3l turbo cu geometrie variabila pentru noua Acura RDX poate pun o turbina de acel tip si pe motorul de 2.0l care poate fi saltat pe la 250CP. cu LSD si the right kind of rubber asta ar sfasia orice alt compact sport FWD.

                            urmatoarea pe lista va fi Acura RSX care trebuia sa vina cu ceva peste Civic Si. si ceva-ul trebuie sa fie nu numai un habitaclu mai bine izolat fonic dar si macar vreo 20ponei in plus.

                            • despre NSX. V10-le Honda trebuie sa aiba in vedere motorul V10 de 5.0l al BMW cu cei 500CP ai lui. anything short of this will be a failure!

                                Marius, nu sunt sigur ce sa-ti recomand:
                                - sa mai vii prin Europa si sa vezi care-i realitatea AICI
                                - sa-ti faci rost de urgenta de o lista de preturi DE AICI

                                Pana nu-ti iese din cap comparatia EU vs SUA - iar asta la orice capitol - cu atat mai mult la preturi, nu mai fa astfel de afirmatii ca sincer, te rad si curciile.
                                Nu zic sa nu vorbesti de ceva care nu l-ai vazut, asta se mai iarta, dar comparatiile astea cu preturile voastre, sunt strigatoare la cer.

                                Daca Civic-ul de 1.4L are VSA (sistemul de stabilitate), poate ca-l va avea si CT-R! Dar dragul meu, spune-ne si nou ce inseamna pentru tine o masina sport? Un Golf GTI umflat pana la refuz de electronica sau un Lotus Elise spartan??
                                Ei, afla ca pentru Honda, cel putin seria R, inseamna cea de a IIa varianta! Si e si normal asa!
                                Tu nu vezi motive pentru care pretul sa nu sara de 21.000 pentru ca tu nu cunosti realitatea de aici, asta-i motivul adevarat!

                                Cine zice ca-ti trebuie un motor mai puternic? Nu ca n-ar trebui, dar hai sa ne multumim si cu ce avem ca daca ne gandim mai bine, au existat si vremuri cand a avea un Type-R in Europa nu era chiar asa subinteles. Cine a zis ca masina asta trebuie sa fie neaparat cea mai tare din clasa ei?
                                Conceptul Type-R n-a mizat niciodata pe putere bruta, asta s-o faca GTI si OPC care-s dichisite cu espe mii de sisteme electronice pentru confortul si climatizarea asa-zisului pilot, ca de aia trec de 1500kg de sportive ce sunt, Type-R mizeaza pe greutate redusa, materiale exotice si dotare spartana, ASTA-I ADEVARATA SPORTIVITATE!
                                Ultima generatie s-a luat la tranta cu toate masinile din clasa ei ce au putere mai mare si in fata la niciuna n-a trebuit sa se faca de ras. E adevarat, a pierdut duele datorita puterii, dar asta nu o face mai putin sportiva fata de ele!
                                Putere mai mare inseamna si mai multa electronica si in general mai multe componente si deci pret mai mare, iar Type-Rul nu se vrea ceva exotic asa cum va ramane OPC cu al sau pret de 30.000€ ci cat de cat mai popular.
                                Sa-ti reamintesc ca un Mini Cooper S Cabrio la 170CP costa 24.000€?

                                La urma urmei am putea pute si intrebarea:
                                de ce sa strici/modifici ceva care s-a dovedit extrem de reusit?

                                Nu uita ca AICI la noi, tot ce trece de 2.0L intra in alta clasa de impozitare, asigurare, etc, iar cum masina oricum nu e ieftina in intretinere si se vrea totusi una pentru tineri (care stii cum e, mai vor si altele nu numai masini tari), alegerea motorului de 2.0L mi se pare una logica.
                                Ca nu i-ar sta rau nici cu un 2.3L Turbo cum zici tu, nici nu ma gandesc sa refuz, dar totusi de unde atata graba?
                                Nu uita ca un Type-R trebuie obligatoriu exportat si spre Japonia unde l-ar declasa clar pe Integra, ceva ce n-are voie!
                                Modelul e doar in stadiul de concept, vom trai si vom vedea ce altceva ne mai e rezervat.
                                Acum e prezentat cu jentile de 20´, in serie se stie ca va veni cu cele de 17, iar optional 18, ce ar trebui sa facem acum cu totii, sa zbieram de ce nu ne-o da cu cele de 20?
