                  Hi Tanner,

I am from TG Mures, but currently living in Bucharest.

                  Yes, there are good hotels.

As transportation I would advise going by airplane directly to Tg Mures: http://www.rome2rio.com/s/Istanbul/T...rgu-Mure%C8%99 as it is the easiest way.

As example I put the 10th of april with layover in Otopeni Airport a.k.a. Henri Coanda Airoprt (Bucharest): http://www.rome2rio.com/s/Istanbul/T...ates=2013-4-10
The cost is of 147 Euro which is quite decent.

From the airoprt to the city there should be a shuttle. If not don't worry, the taxis are cheap (0.40 Euro per kilometer) and the distance is of 15 km (airport to center) thus it should only cost you 6-7 Euro including tip.

Regarding Hotels it depends on the stay. There are fancier hotels, central ones and so on.
We can also discuss here if the costs are paid by you or by the Erasmus program.
                  A brief overview is: http://www.booking.com/searchresults...empty;radius=0

There are smaller ones, or ones not on the list but on Booking you can already book the rooms and it is convenient.

And finally, as a recommandation, a good hotel, close to the Petru Maior university (5-7 minutes on foot), right in the center of the city is: Plaza V

Let me know if I can help with other information.
